Mardi Friggin' Gras

Contrary to many of my culturally inept friends its NOT justa gay festival.. that would be the Gay Pride march that is PART of it.. but the festival itself is a fully mixed affair
It was also bloody crap.
For a start theres the two mile walk from the "closest train station" Stratford, to the actual location in Hackney Marshes.
The theres the fact that it didn't open until two an a half hours late becasue they didn't get the damn saftly certificate signed.
Then theres the lack of acessability for my disable friend. Then theres the overpiced drinks at food.. now 3.50 for a buger is about normal at these places.. but 1.50 for a can of coke? fuck off...
Then there was the awful planing of the music and bands.. the general rip off culture... I could go on but its was just so crap I don't think I'll be able to fully express it.
However... there were two things that were cool about it.
I guy was selling Lemonade that he made there freshly for you... delish.. and Belinda Carlile was on stage.. best act of the night.
pfft.. Purple in The Park was sooo much better.
